How Is It Done?
Emsella uses electromagnetic energy to deliver supra-maximal contractions to the pelvic floor muscles. Each 30-minute session is equivalent to doing 11,000 kegels. Patients are able to stay fully clothed during the treatments. When the pelvic floor muscles are strengthened, patients see an improvement in both fecal and urinary incontinence as well as sexual function. We recommend that our patients do 6 sessions.
Results
Emsella results vary. Some patients see a difference after one treatment. Total results are expected 8-12 weeks after the last session. Some patients may need additional treatments to fully treat their incontinence.
We also recommend combining Emsella with Votiva for women who also have issues with stress incontinence, vaginal dryness, or just want total vaginal rejuvenation.
After the Procedure
There is no downtime after the Emsella sessions.
